What is a domain name, and why do I need one?

A domain name is your website’s address on the internet (like yourcompany.com). It’s how people find you online. Without a domain, your website can’t be accessed by users. A domain name gives your business credibility and makes it easier for customers to remember and reach you.

Can I register a domain through STC Web Hosting?

Yes! STC Web Hosting offers domain registration for a wide range of extensions like .com, .net, .org, .bd, and more. You can register a new domain or transfer your existing one to us easily.

What’s the difference between domain registration and web hosting?

Domain registration gives you ownership of your website address (e.g., mycompany.com), while web hosting provides the server space where your website files are stored. You need both to have a live website.

Can I use my existing domain with STC Web Hosting?

Absolutely! If you already own a domain registered elsewhere, you can easily connect it to our hosting services. We also offer domain transfer services if you prefer to manage everything in one place.

How long can I register a domain for?

You can register a domain for 1 to 10 years. Many clients choose multi-year registration to secure their domain long-term and avoid the risk of losing it due to expiration.

What happens if my domain expires?

If your domain expires, your website and email services will go offline. However, we’ll send multiple renewal reminders before expiry. In most cases, there’s also a short grace period after expiration where you can still renew the domain.
